Alex Black, or in some circles known as Alexander Black, was born in April,
1989 in Redwood City, California. Alex is an actor, as well as a singer and
bass player. At a young age, Alex along with older brother Tony, showed interest
in acting. Alex was soon seen in many theatre productions, including "The
Grapes of Wrath", "The Wizard of Oz", "West Side Story" and in the title role of
"Joseph, and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat".
Playing "Patrick Cassidy" in the NBC movie-of-the-week "The David Cassidy
Story" led to his career move to Los Angeles. Guest starring on such television
shows as "Angel", "Unsolved Mysteries", "Off Centre" and "Charmed" (which
garnered Alex a Young Artists Award in 2003) led to filmwork. Alex was a series
regular in "Suburban Sleuths", a pilot for Lifetime.
Alex has been working in films ever since, including working with Kiefer
Sutherland in "Desert Saints" and starred in the modern day Don Quixote story,
"Borderland". Alex then acted in Touchstone Pictures' "Bubble Boy" with brother
Tony Black and Jake Gillenhaal. Opening in theatres May 28, 2004 Alex can be
seen in Revolution Pictures' "Thirteen Going On Thirty", starring Jennifer
Garner.
Realizing how fortunate he is, Alex serves on the Youth Advisory Board for a
celebrity children's charity. He actively participates in visiting many less
fortunate children.
